Terms & Conditions
Neither the carrier nor the ship shall be responsible for any loss of life or personal injury occurring at any time and any location once the passenger has boarded, is ashore, or at an intermediate port, either before or after disembarking at the final port. The carrier is liable for incidents occurring on board the ship only if the interested party can prove that the event resulted from gross negligence by the carrier or its employees.
The carrier is not accountable for the loss or damage of personal property such as cash, jewelry, decorative items, tools, computers, artwork, or other valuables unless these items were specifically handed over to the carrier for safekeeping. In such cases, the carrier’s liability will be limited to the compensation provided under the Rivage Convention.
Women in the early stages of pregnancy, up to the 12th week, are advised to seek medical advice before traveling. Women who have completed or will complete the 28th week of pregnancy at any point during the cruise must present a medical certificate confirming their fitness to travel. The carrier reserves the right to request a medical certificate at any stage of pregnancy and may refuse transportation if the carrier or the captain has any doubts about the passenger’s safety during the cruise.
Passengers must not bring illegal drugs or other prohibited items on board, such as knives, guns, weapons, flammable or hazardous objects, or any other banned substances. Violation of these rules constitutes a breach of the terms and makes the passenger liable to the carrier for any injury, loss, damage, or expense incurred. The passenger will be responsible for compensating the carrier for any claims, fines, or financial penalties arising from such a breach, including legal costs and expenses related to handling these claims. The passenger may also face statutory fines or other penalties. The captain (or any other competent officer) has the right to enter and investigate the cabin, baggage, or any other items belonging to the passenger without notice, and to conduct a physical search, with the passenger consenting to such actions.
All firearms and other weapons are strictly prohibited on board. The captain and the carrier have the right to confiscate, retain, or take other measures concerning these weapons. Persons carrying such objects may be required to disembark without further liability to the carrier.
To ensure passenger safety in compliance with international, European, or national safety requirements and regulations, the passenger declares and guarantees their mental and physical fitness to travel, ensuring that their behavior will not endanger the ship’s safety or disturb other passengers. Any passenger with a mental or physical disability or illness that may affect their ability to travel must present a medical certificate before departure, certifying their fitness to travel.
In the event of illness or accident, passengers may be transported ashore for medical care. The carrier assumes no liability for the quality of medical care at any port or place of disembarkation. Passengers are advised to have insurance covering medical care and emergency airlift or other means of returning home. The carrier does not guarantee the quality of medical facilities ashore, which can vary significantly from port to port.
The ship’s operation is subject to weather conditions, vessel traffic, government interventions, the need to assist other ships in distress, the availability of berthing facilities, unforeseen circumstances, or other factors beyond the carrier’s control. The carrier may alter the course, cancel, postpone, or terminate the cruise at any time for any reason, whether the ship has deviated from its course or not.
If a cruise is cancelled, postponed, curtailed, delayed, or terminated by the carrier for reasons beyond its control, the carrier and the organizer bear no liability towards the passenger. If the cancellation or alteration is due to unforeseeable circumstances, the carrier and organizer shall not be responsible for any resulting inconvenience to the passenger.
The carrier does not guarantee that the ship will visit all advertised ports of call or follow a specific sea route or schedule. The captain and the carrier have the right to change or replace the advertised program or ports of call for any reason.
The carrier is not liable for any loss or injury, damage, or inability to perform the cruise due to force majeure events, including but not limited to war, terrorism, fire, natural disasters, acts of God, labor strikes, bankruptcy, contractor failures, or other events beyond the carrier’s control.
If the ship is impeded or blocked, preventing it from continuing its route, the carrier may transfer the passenger to another vessel or other means of transport towards the passenger’s destination, with the passenger’s consent.
Passengers must adhere to the ship’s departure times at each port. If a passenger misses the ship at any port listed in the cruise itinerary, the carrier is not liable for this event or responsible for alternative transportation.
Unaccompanied minors under 18 are not accepted on board, and children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times while on board and can participate in activities or excursions only under their supervision. Children cannot remain on board if their parent or guardian goes ashore.
Passengers agree to comply with the carrier’s standards and regulations and all instructions from the ship’s captain and officers. No animals or pets are allowed on board, except for certified guide animals for the blind.
Passengers are liable for any damage to the ship, its equipment, or any other property of the carrier caused by their wrongful or negligent acts or omissions, including minors under 18 traveling with the passenger. Any fines, penalties, fees, or charges incurred due to the passenger’s failure to comply with ship rules or government regulations must be paid in full by the passenger.
Disputes between the passenger and the carrier regarding transportation and the terms of service will be governed by Greek law, subject to the provisions of the Rivage Convention, and will be heard in the Courts of Piraeus, Greece, unless otherwise agreed in writing by the carrier.
Additional terms and conditions are available from your local agent and the owner company.
